Growing up next to a few small lakes and ponds I spent much of my youth playing there admiring the many species of bugs and fish and critters that abound there. Catfish have always been a favorite. There's soemthing so whimsical about their long black whiskers. Seeing them glide effortlessly below the surface in the warm shallow waters near the edge of the lake always made me wonder what their life in the murky depths must be like. Starting out as little black wrigglers that band in huge schools near the shore and growing to be the biggest things in those small ponds near my parents house. There's something magical about catfish. They're not just tasty.
